“Sometimes we assume that the new person in our life is better for us because they are totally different from the last person we dated. Only later do we see that we have chosen a different version of the same thing and they both leave us unsatisfied.”— The Gift of Past Relationships
“Unfortunately we never come clean into relationships. We have expectations from before. We don’t want to make the same mistakes, the new partner must be different than the previous ones but perhaps we are wishing secretly that they act the same way in some things. We expect them to know us as if they are with us all life and although we don’t know them for that long we think we do, we think we’ve been here before although we barely just started.”—
“The truth is that I’m afraid to dive into someone new. How can I not be? I’m still emptying my lungs from the last time I fell into someone’s waters and explored the depths of them. It’ll be years before I’m done wringing the wetness out of my hair, before I stop smelling the salt of their oceans on my skin. Learning someone new is frightening now. It’s not the adventure it was before. I’m no longer bitter for my heartbreak. My reluctance isn’t a decision I made with a sour mouth. I’m just exhausted by the idea of feeling for someone new. Of treading water with small talk and stories about our childhoods. When I think of him, I am afraid of sinking so deeply into someone again that I am lost to them. In that, I realize I am most afraid that I won’t sink at all. That I’ll always be treading water with anyone that isn’t him. That anyone after him will only know how to meet me at the surface.”— pardis alia.

“some call it moving forward, others call it being forced to forget. either way, our spirit feels as heavy as our feet when we must leave someone we love a little too soon, or when they must leave us.”

“At the beginning of the storm, you lose yourself, and in the middle of the storm, you find yourself. Chaos is your genius.”— Juansen Dizon
I’m starting to realize I don’t truly, deeply matter to any one single person and it’s really fucking with me.
“You must be the person you have never had the courage to be. Gradually, you will discover that you are that person, but until you can see this clearly, you must pretend and invent.”—
I like that “morning baby” kinda relationship. The no games, great communication, lots of sex, lots of kissing, lots of cuddling, lots of flirting, lots of being goofy kind of relationship. That makes you want to run 100 miles, read books, clean up your bad habits kind of love.

“I want to know you whether you’re afraid of sharks or spiders death or love. I want to know if it’s grammatical errors that drive you crazy or the people correcting them, if you’re more comfortable shaking sand out of your hair or snow, if you prefer coffee or tea, bars or board game nights. I want to know which of your friends you’ve cried in front of, if you’ve ever laughed chocolate milk out of your nose, or kissed someone you didn’t love. I want to know you the you beneath the layer of small talk always kept shined and smudgeless I’m just hoping one day you’ll invite me in.”— Kristen Costello
